Gabriella Strümpel was born in the USA, of a Hungarian mother and a German father. She began playing the cello when she was 6. A year later she moved to Berlin.
Her professional training began with Christoph Richter at the “Folkwang-Hochschule” in Essen, Germany, where she graduated with honours. At the Cracow Mozart Academy, she worked with musicians such as Sándor Végh, Boris Pergamenschikow and Thomas Riebl.
She then studied with Wolfgang Boettcher and Alexandra Müller at the “Hochschule der ünste” (now “Universität der Künste”) in Berlin. In 1997 she received her concert soloist diploma “Konzertexamen”. As a part of her final exam she performed the Dvorák cello concerto with the “Berliner Symphoniker”. Parallel to her conservatory studies Gabriella attended numerous master classes with musicians such as Anner Bylsma, Uzi Wiesel, Steven Isserlis, János Starker, György Kurtág, and most importantly and intensively György Sebök. She won the 2nd prize at the German national youth competition “Jugend musiziert” and the “Folkwangpreis” as a member of Trio Rossignol. Gabriella has been a member of the Flemish Radio Orchestra in Belgium (now Brussels Philharmonic) since 1997. In 1999 she was guest principal cellist of the Brussels opera orchestra “Théatre Royal de la Monnaie”.
Rachel Andrist was born and raised in Canada. She recieved her Bachelor of Music from the University of Regina and her Master of Music from the St.Louis Conservatory. Later she attended the Professional Studies Program of the Cleveland Institute of Music and studied Lieder with Martin Isepp at the Banff School of Fine Arts.
Since the mid-90s Rachel Andrist has worked extensively with singers. She was on the faculty of the Opera School of the University of Toronto, served as the Music Director for the Opera on a Shoestring in Glasgow as well as for the Opera Studio production of Riders to the Sea by Ralph Vaughan Williams at the Théatre de la Monnaie in Brussels. She has been a member of the music staff at the English National Opera, the Scottish Opera, Glasgow, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Glyndebourne Festival Opera, the Nederlandse Opera and the Salzburger Festspiele. Since 2006 she has been a vocal coach for the Opera Akademiet in Copenhagen and for the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Brussels. Since 1997 she has been “chef de chant » at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Brussels.

Ezalatt az ido alatt a Mikes-nek is tagja voltam, lelekben meg most is annak erzem magam, noha 1999 ota az Iberiai Felsziget lakoja vagyok. Az esemeny egyebirant azert is kulonleges, mivel a specialisan orgonakoncertteremm e lett, teljesen felujitott muemlek protestans (Ned. Herv.) templomepuletben - melyben jomagam voltam 1994-ig az utolso egyhazi orgonista - eloszor tuz programjara magyar musort, 'Van Kodaly tot Gardonyi - Landenportret' cimmel. TIME PRINT 08 IN BRUSSELS Videospace Budapest Gallery presents light boxes, videos and video installations at the Hungarian Institute in Brussels in the Top Hungarian Galleries series. A broad selection of various artistic positions in Hungarian media art is showcased in the exhibition of Videospace Budapest Gallery at the Hungarian Institute in Brussels, opening January 15 and open through February 15.
Videospace Budapest is Hungary’s first gallery specialising in media art in the broadest sense of the term. The exhibition venue presents art based on digital techniology, electronic media, sound, electric light and moving images standing on their own or as parts of installatons. Videospace has organised international art exhibitions and events in Hungary and abroad since 1999. In September, 2007 Videospace Budapest opened its gallery in Ráday utca, a central location in the art scene of the Hungarian capital. The curators and owners of Videospace Budapes Gallery are video artist Eike Berg and art historian and curator Andrea Berg.

In januari en en februari is de Nadara Gipsy wedding Band uit Transsylvanië in Nederland om zijn nieuwste CD te promoten. Tijdens deze toernee wordt de derde en mooiste CD van de groep ten doop gehouden.De groep treedt op, samen met zigeunerzanger Ioan Ciorba en buikdanseres Arabella, op 18 januari in Venlo, 19 in Haarlem, 20 in Zutphen, 22 in Groningen, 23 in Hilversum, 24 in Gronau (D) en 25 in Leiden. Tenslotte vindt er een groot CD-gala plaats op 23 februari in Amsterdam. De exacte speellijst volgt hieronder.De Nadara Gipsy Wedding Band is één van de meest succesvolle zigeunerorkesten van Transsylvanië (Roemenië). Niet alleen spelen ze nog steeds op talloze roma-bruiloften ter plaatse, maar ook zijn ze trouwe gast op vele festivals in Europa. Dit roma-orkest speelde o.a. in het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam en op het verjaardagsfeestje van Zijne Hoogheid de Prins van Monaco. De band verzorgde de muziek voor nieuwste film van Toni Gatlif: TRANSYLVANIA. De nieuwste CD van Nadara bevat authentieke traditionele zigeunerliederen, dansmuziek van de roma uit Transsylvanië, traditionele Hongaarse volksmuziek, alsmede de eigentijdse, populaire Roemeense buikdansmuziek (manele). De zigeunerdansmuziek van Nadara is buitengewoon swingend en wordt opgezweept door de bijzondere Roemeense zigeunerzanger Ioan Ciorba, de Franse zangeres/filmster Alexandra Beaujard en het slangenmeisje Arabella Lakatos. Ofschoon de eigen volksmuziek van de roma in Transsylvanië zich blijft ontwikkelen en vernieuwen, breekt Nadara een lans voor het traditionele akoestische instrumentarium, bestaande uit viool, saxofoon, accordeon, kontra, gitaar,cimbaal en contrabas. A broad selection of various artistic positions in Hungarian media art is showcased in the exhibition of Videospace Budapest Gallery at the Hungarian Institute in Brussels, opening January 15 and open through February 15.
Videospace Budapest is Hungary’s first gallery specialising in media art in the broadest sense of the term. The exhibition venue presents art based on digital techniology, electronic media, sound, electric light and moving images standing on their own or as parts of installatons.
Videospace has organised international art exhibitions and events in Hungary and abroad since 1999. In September, 2007 Videospace Budapest opened its gallery in Ráday utca, a central location in the art scene of the Hungarian capital.
The curators and owners of Videospace Budapes Gallery are video artist Eike Berg and art historian and curator Andrea Berg.

In januari en en februari is de Nadara Gipsy wedding Band uit Transsylvanië in Nederland om zijn nieuwste CD te promoten. Tijdens deze toernee wordt de derde en mooiste CD van de groep ten doop gehouden.De groep treedt op, samen met zigeunerzanger Ioan Ciorba en buikdanseres Arabella, op 18 januari in Venlo, 19 in Haarlem, 20 in Zutphen, 22 in Groningen, 23 in Hilversum, 24 in Gronau (D) en 25 in Leiden. Tenslotte vindt er een groot CD-gala plaats op 23 februari in Amsterdam. De exacte speellijst volgt hieronder.
De Nadara Gipsy Wedding Band is één van de meest succesvolle zigeunerorkesten van Transsylvanië (Roemenië). Niet alleen spelen ze nog steeds op talloze roma-bruiloften ter plaatse, maar ook zijn ze trouwe gast op vele festivals in Europa. Dit roma-orkest speelde o.a. in het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam en op het verjaardagsfeestje van Zijne Hoogheid de Prins van Monaco. De band verzorgde de muziek voor nieuwste film van Toni Gatlif: TRANSYLVANIA. De nieuwste CD van Nadara bevat authentieke traditionele zigeunerliederen, dansmuziek van de roma uit Transsylvanië, traditionele Hongaarse volksmuziek, alsmede de eigentijdse, populaire Roemeense buikdansmuziek (manele). De zigeunerdansmuziek van Nadara is buitengewoon swingend en wordt opgezweept door de bijzondere Roemeense zigeunerzanger Ioan Ciorba, de Franse zangeres/filmster Alexandra Beaujard en het slangenmeisje Arabella Lakatos. Ofschoon de eigen volksmuziek van de roma in Transsylvanië zich blijft ontwikkelen en vernieuwen, breekt Nadara een lans voor het traditionele akoestische instrumentarium, bestaande uit viool, saxofoon, accordeon, kontra, gitaar,cimbaal en contrabas. Oekraïners, Hongaren, Roemenen, Polen, Slowaken, roma en joden leven sinds eeuwen samen in Transkarpatië. Hun muzikale tradities klinken door in de muziek van Hudaki. Dit authentieke dorpsorkest neemt u mee naar het Oekraïense deel van de Karpaten. Hudaki speelt liederen en dansen uit het Choestjets-dal in Transkarpatië, zoals die al sinds generaties op bruiloften en feesten klinken. De liederen van de zangeressen Katja en Olga en de vijf muzikanten gaan over liefde en ontrouw, over vriendschap, rebellie en oorlog. Hudaki is steeds op zoek naar het oorspronkelijk geluid van de eeuwenoude ballades. Viool, taragot, baraban, fluiten, cimbaal, contrabas en zang blazen de ongeschreven muziek nieuw leven in. Hudaki komt uit het westelijk deel van de Oekraïne, dichtbij de grens met Hongarije, Roemenië en Slowakije. Volgens kartografen in de 19e eeuw ligt Transkarpatië precies in het geografische middelpunt van Europa. De regio is alleen al in de vorige eeuw zes keer van nationaliteit veranderd. De volksmuziek heeft hiervan geprofiteerd, door voort te bouwen op het beste uit de verschillende culturen. Afgelopen juli vond weer het tweejaarlijkse muziekfestival plaats in het dorp Lopukhovo, bijgewoond door maar liefst 15.000 bezoekers. Beaty Czető: 15 years in art studio Curacaolaan, Vlaardingen
Paintings, drawings and gravures, cuttings, kneading and molding, sieveprinting, photographing and computer works, watching, reaserches and experiments, sweating, strafes and enjoyments ... looking for inspirations ... and be found.
The art studio has been on Curacaolaan for 15 years.
We celebrate our anniversary with a great art-presentation of together with former and current Curacao-artists
on 15 and 16 September
between 12:00—18:00.
The art-presentation will be opened at 13:00 on 15 September 2007 by Kees van der Windt, cultural councillor.

Magyar cserkész nap Vianenben
Kedves Szülõk és Gyerekek!
A három hollandiai magyar óvoda-iskola (Hágai Magyar Óvoda, Hollandiai Magyar Gyermek- és Ifjúsági Kör, Kincskeresõ Oskola) a Hollandiai Magyar Szövetséggel karöltve június 23-án a Vianen-i Magyar Házban rendkívül sikeres gyermek és szülõi találkozót rendezett magyar óvodák, iskolák és azon kívüliek számára. A nagylétszámú gyerek miatt (kb. 80-90) felmerült az igény a cserkészet újraindítására is. A Szövetség felkérésére, a korábban évtizedeken keresztül aktív Attila cserkészcsapat szeptemberben ismerkedõ, bemutatkozó összejövetelt szervez, hogy megbeszélje a szülõkkel, gyerekekkel, van-e érdeklõdés a hollandiai magyar családok körében a hagyományos magyar cserkésznevelésre. A sok éven át az Attila csapatot vezetõ Ir. Nickl Károly cscst. vállalja az aktív cserkészet újraindítását Hollandiaban, amennyiben gyerekszeretõ fiatal szülõk is feladatot vállalnak (nem csak a fáramászásnál és vizesárok átugrásnál...). A cserkészetbe bekapcsolódni minden korban lehet (gróf Teleki Pál miniszterelnök volt, amikor rövidnadrágban(!) elvégezte az örsvezetõi tábort).
A szeptemberi bemutatkozó összejövetelen megbeszéljük, hogy
- mit nyújt a cserkészet a gyermekek számára, és a sok éves hollandiai tapasztalatot,
- a fiatal szülõk milyen részt tudnak vállalni az újrainduló cserkészmunkában.
- milyen kiképzési anyag áll 2007-ben rendelkezésünkre
Idõpont: 2007. szeptember 15., szombat, 13 órától 17 óráig. A terem nyitva 12 órától, úgyhogy a szülõk és gyermekek a magukkal hozott (villás)reggelit 13 óra elõtt elfogyaszthatják.

Korosztályok:
- kiscserkész jelöltek: 6 - 9 éves korig
- cserkész jelöltek: 10 - 15 éves korig
- 15 év felettiek a 'vándor' (rover)- cserkészek (jelenleg nem aktuális)
6 évesnél kisebb gyermekeket (testvéreket) is szeretettel várjuk, amennyiben az õket hozó szülõk egyike az örsigyûlések alatt foglakozik is velük.
A tábortûzhöz (16 órától) természetesen minden korosztályt várunk!
A tervek szerint az összejövetelek havonta egy alkalommal lennének. Az önfinanszírozásra alapozott részvételi díjat és a program további részleteit a visszajelzés után közöljük.
